Nascence

Fragmented, I slipped,
away from my mother's hip.
Together we were turning ,
rotating, arching--
she was yearning
to find a way
not to repeat.
We started to lift,
we both felt the shift.
First, we sighed with relief,
then the joy made us weep--
Later, there was a snap,
suddenly I was released.

We're apart now,
born not to repeat.
